What is the current version of PHP being used in WordPress.

PHP 8.3 is the standard recommended baseline for most sites. However, many developers and web hosts strongly push for PHP 8.4 or PHP 8.5 on well-maintained setups to optimize speed and security  –  sobhaliora 12 Aug

WordPress 7.0: Fully compatible with PHP 7.4 up to PHP 8.5 (Dropped support for PHP 7.2 and 7.3). You can use any version with the latest WordPress 7.0. I am using WordPress on PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.1. If you want to use it in the PHP 8.5 version, you can use it.

WordPress supports modern PHP versions, with PHP 8.3 being widely recommended for better performance and security.
The minimum required version for WordPress is PHP 7.4, but newer versions provide improved speed and compatibility.
Most hosting providers now offer PHP 8.x versions for WordPress websites.
Using the latest PHP version helps enhance website performance and security.
Always ensure your themes and plugins are compatible before updating PHP. https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
